For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity.William Penn This memorial website was created to remember our dad Ruben Brandt who was born in Satanta, Kansas on August 29, 1934 and passed away on October 17, 2007. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
Ruben is survived by his loving wife, Mary, four sons (Ken, Bernie, Randy, Doug), one daughter (Roxanne), and eight grandchildren.
After Ruben was born, his parents soon moved from Kansas to a farm near Steinbach where he grew up. On October 2, 1955, he married Mary Rempel, his sweetheart from the farm next door. Four sons and one daughter were born to them in the years following, all of whom have made professions of faith in Christ through their teaching and example.
Ruben worked in road construction in the early years, then in house moving and renovation in B.C. His last fifteen years of work were spent at Trinity Western University taking care of the plumbing and heating. Visits with family and friends on the prairies have been highlights of their retirement years.

"God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be
So He closed his arms around you
And whispered "Come to Me"
With tearful eyes,
We watched you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts
To prove to us,
He only takes the best."
